TAKEN UP AND COMMITTED TO THE JAIL OF
Stokes County, at Danbury on the 12th May,1860
runaway negro boy, who says his name is SAMUEL
FRANKLIN CLARK, says he is near 21 yrs of
age, and will be free when of age; that he was bound
to SOLOMON ARSMFIELD in Gilford county, and was xxxx
to JOSEPH' HOUSTON, near Greensboro; said boy
is about five feet seven or 8 inches high, of a copper
color, and weighs about 145 lbs He had on
when apprehended an old gray frock coat, drab
colored pants, and cloth cap. The said negro is believed
to be a slave. The owner is requested to come and prove
his property, and pay all charges.
