In Cabarrus County 1850 census there are quite a few of the African Americans listed in the Free Schedules, one in particular is that of my great grandfather Joel House, listed as a mulatto, laborer/carpenter, and listed in the household with another African American named Andrew Reid, they are listed in the white family household of John Faggert/Fehgert.
