Aaron appears in the 1900 census in Arkansas with his Mom, Mary Locket age 39 and sister Lula Cross age 18. Lula only has birthed 2 children, 2 living. From what I can gather, in 1880 there is a Mary Cross with her parents (Julia and Willis Cross) in Louisiana. They are also found in 1870 in Louisiana. In 1870 Mary was born in Missouri as the Mary found in 1900. So maybe Cross was Mary's maiden name. Mary's daughter Lula was born in Louisiana. I did not see any other Lockets in 1900 in Lafayette County for a possible father to Aaron.

So, if you don't have the census info for 1870, I can provide for you, but you can look at 1880 at www.familysearch.org

Maybe you can look for a death certificate for Aaron if you know his death place and date. Maybe that will reveal his father's name.

I don't know if I'm barking up the right tree, but it's a start.
