Lloyd, thanks. I took a look at the list and several of the surnames pop up as marriage spouses: Stewart, Bell, Archer. There may be a connection, but impossible to follow that thread. I believe you are probably right, my GG and G grands probably were bound out; I suspect that my grandmother and her sibblings were boarded out too as I can not locate them as a family unit (although their parents were married in 1866, and I also suspect an interracial marriage with my ggrands).
