I never knew the history of Caesar Creek State Park, but am honored to now know it. Thank you for this posting. Interestingly, that location is where my husband proposed to me, when he was a lieutenant with the Highway Patrol down in that area of the state. Knowing that the park was named for the creek and for the former slave Caesar makes the location that much more meaningful to me.
