I was told that my African-American g grandma & family may have resided with the Ryles family in Allendale, SC right outside of Bamberg. My ggrandma was Verdear Rivers b. abt 12-22-1917. Unfortuantely I do not know her parents names, but I do know that she had a brother by the name of Guy Folk. Verdear Rivers was also once married to a Patrick Williams and a Richard Chinnery (of Virgin Islands). I do know that by 1932 Verdear and her husband would have lived in NY or NJ.
