Hello States Researchers:

I am looking for recommended research sites for Alabama. I've visited the Afrigeneas state links for Alabama and many of the sites are excellent. But sources like the Alabama Department of Archives and History lists other links but with no searchable data information.

I am looking for information on Mobile and its environs from the late 1770's to 1820. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Please note that many archives are only open to Alabama residents. A big stumbling block for researchers living outside of the state.
