Wright Museum exhibit celebrates African-American history
Take the family to the "A is for Africa" exhibit at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. The exhibit, which comprises 26 interactive stations, serves as a virtual 3-D "dictionary" designed to teach preschool-age children to fourth-graders (and their parents) all about Africa and its people, places, events, ideas and foods, as well objects important to understanding the histories and cultures of the continent. MAAH is open 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Closed Sundays through Tuesdays. Admission is $5-$8 and children younger than 3 are free. Call (313) 494-5800.
