Black Teachers--SC 1920-1930 where

I have an ancestor who was a school teacher, according to the census in Johnston Sc between 1920-1930. I am unable to get past 1930 unless I go to the SC Archives and do an on site search for records that are not on microfilm...manuscripts, community newspapers etc. Most of the members of the families I am researching were women and I have no idea what their married names might be, if they did get married after 1930..the maiden names were Vance and Pin(c)kney. I want to try and find cousins whom, I'm sure, since my grgrandmother left the area between 1870 and 1880, know nothing about my family. Can anyone tell me if there were records kept for people of color by a Board of Education and if these names can be found? Where do I look for them?
