Speaking of hurricanes, has the recent hurricane activity within the past two years make some family members nervous about coming to Florida?? Our reunion this year will be in Pensacola, an area that has been hit with two hurricanes in the past two years.

The chairperson has already discussed "Hurricane Protection" with the hotel, and they will cancel reservations and refund any money if a hurricane is threatening the area. However, I believe some family members feel that one might strike while they are there. It's not like a hurricane can just pop up on ya. If one is already in the Gulf of Mexico and threatening the Gulf Coast areas during the week of the reunion, we will cancel the event ahead of time before anyone boards a plane, train, car, bus, etc., and we will issue refunds. What more can we do? Hurricanes are not like tornados. They are fairly predictable, and you know they are coming, but you just do not know exactly where it's going to hit.

In your past reunions, did you all ever discuss "Hurricane Protection" with the hotel, and how were you able to ease the minds of family members. Katrina has invoked a lot of fear.
