For my 1st and only reunion, I organized, I believe I developed a couple of ulcers. When it got so close to different deposit dates, I canceled those events. I couldn't afford to put my money out there. Once I stopped worrying about what had to be paid and started focusing on what money's were available to do the major thing, BUY FOOD, the rest became easy. Everyone knew I had deadline dates for certain activities. Folks tend to feel if you are the organizer, you have plenty money(yours) to pay for whatever needs to be done. Maybe you will get your money back, maybe not. I had my own personal bills, I couldn't take the chance. The food and the one activity was mainly what they wanted anyhow.One thing, I must say if it hadn't been for a cousin who owned a restaurant that donated the ribs, that amount would have been reduced. The reunion is for those who show. Some wanted to give money WHEN they got here. I asked them to go out to a fast food restaurant and buy whatever they had with the amount they were owing. It became more realistic at that point. I couldn't worry anymore.
