Family Reunion Forum
Successful, but thank God it's over
Our July 2007 Travis Family reunion was a great success. Although some of my cousins had a 'seperate' reunion from the main one on the very same weekend. We still had a ball at the real 'Travis Family Reunion'. We had approximately 100 people there and from all accounts everyone said it was the best one ever. We started on Thursday evening with a meet & greet registration reception. Friday was a free day on your own allowing our out of town family an opportunity to visit Chicago. Friday night we had our "Black & White banquet" where we were entertained by the "Little People", Saturday we had our picnic and Saturday night we had a Mardi Gras party where everyone had a chance to showcase their talents. It was a great party. There was another reunion going on at the resort where we were. They had Kareoke on Friday night and we had Mardi Gras on Saturday night. We attended each other's parties and everyone had a great time. We ended the reunion on Sunday morning with church at the resort. Where ever we go there is always a local family member who is a minister and brings the message, keeping true to our heritage of being decendants of Rev. Byrd Travis. I have posted some of the pictures and I am waiting for more. Thanks Nikka, I found shutterfly because I viewed your reunion pictures.
