I loved your post. You had a colorful childhood. It is rich with memories. I wish I had some wonderful stories to tell.
There were many memorable characters in your neighborhood. Mine was blah.
Just like today, sometimes I do not see a person on the street. We lived next door to a parsonage. They had two girls and we played with them. But mostly we just went to church.

Our highlight was my father would take us riding every weekend. Or we would go visit relatives for a weekend and go fishing with our father.
