Re: Maternal and Paternal Lines
In Response To: Re: Maternal and Paternal Lines ()
I am drafting a flyer for a reunion of the relatives of my grandmother's and grandfather's side in Virginia. They were from the same hometown. I have never been to Little Washington VA but I have read all of the census records. I am going to include the names of families that I see living around both families over the years. In my family it is the CLARK family and the CHINN family. But, I want to include in my mailing and in the community newspaper these names as well: CARTER, CLIFFIN,WOODS,DENNIS for starters. I am in the process of reviewing all of the records to see if I can include any other names that will connect! Here is a question that I think I know the answer to but I will ask anyway... I know that the BROWNING family was the slave holder for my gg grandmother. I have seen African American BROWNINGS in the area. Should I include BROWNING among the names? If so, how would I word that sticky issue.
