That is such a great idea! We do something similar with our family "clubs." We have large numbers of Allen descendants in Key West, Nassau and the Miami area. The Key West members (my group) meet every six weeks or so for brunch. We've hosted the bi-annual reunion twice since 1997 and have fundraisers to support our various projects, which includes our website (www.AllenFamilyReunion.org), the family cookbook, family scholarship, and several other upcoming projects to be determined at our next meeting. The Nassau Allen women also meet regularly, for lunch. They call their club the Butcherettes after William (Willie Butcher) Allen, their grandfather and g-grandfather. They also work on family projects (caring for our elderly family members, etc.) and spearhead the reunion development when it's held in Nassau.

I especially like the idea of having a family matriarch in each of the major cities. Thanks for sharing!
