Re: Sample letters

I gotta tell you. BEEN THERE DONE THAT!! So if you feel discouraged, don't sweat the small stuff. You may not get any where near the responses you would expect, so just get whoever you can depend on to start the planning process. It's a family reunion even if it's only 2 families. Try to write all letter's as if you are talking one on one to everyone. Keep it fun and put a surprise in each newsletter you send out. I formulated a contest to see who was listening. On the 1st page I asked who would like to do this. How many are in their family. Did they know their grgrgrandparents full names. (Family history stuff). On the other side of the same sheet I had other questions. The 1st person who sent back the questionaire with the most asked questions, received a prize--maybe 1 free ticket to somewhere. There were 20 questions only 1 person answered 11. I announced the winner in the next newsletter and let them know there MAY BE oppurtunities to win another prize. You do what you gotta do. I have to tell you, I found out a lot of my family are real looney. Some of them felt a reunion would destroy the family. DUH! But we did have 1 family reunion, cause some felt they might miss out on some nice gifts.
