Information on the FBI's investigation on the operations of a business or organization, the lives of the famous, infamous and everyday citizens, an event of historical significance, or YOU can be requested via the FBI's Freedom of Information website.

Many 'investigations' were conducted when one of the people involved was a 'victim' of a crime or mentioned in historical events under examination by the FBI. Many more were FBI informants or went through background investigations and approval for work, travel abroad, government appointment, etc.
