In Response To: Piqua News -- A zoom in for Art T.
() Tim, Several 'hometown' connections mentioned in the article. Cyrene A.M.E. is the church my family and I attended. And my family has collateral family connections with the Delaney surname in Piqua. The Mr. Elijah Delaney mentioned in the article came to Piqua in the early 1850's and his children married into the families of the former Randolph Slaves who migrated to Piqua in 1846 following their manumission from slavery by John Randolph of Roanoke Plantation in Charlotte County, VA. Yep, there is a lot of 'unspoken' history found in those older AA newspapers. Thanks for remembering me and my connections to Piqua, Ohio..
