I was glancing through that issue just this morning while having my coffee. It is indeed an interesting article.

We need to give kudos to the Indiana Historical Society for their commitment to routinely provide African American related articles in their publication. When they restructured/adjusted their publications, the standalone Black History News and Notes was folded into the Traces magazine--it could have very well been dropped altogether. I am sure Wilma Moore's (formerly Gibbs) steady, tireless effort to bring the African American history of Indiana to light helped guide them in their decision, and we are all the benefactors of it.

Remember this when IHS has their Midwestern Roots conference in the summer of 2012 and support the event.
