Re: USCTs Resting at Abandoned Cemetery
In Response To: Re: USCTs Resting at Abandoned Cemetery ()
Bennie, After receiving the email below, I wanted to verify, double check, and get an impression of the tombstone in question. I don't want to mislead anyone or be incorrect. The first tombstone reads: Corporal
This was not George Jackson as I had originally stated, somewhere, somehow I got the first name mixed up with another tombstone at the site. I am terrible sorry for this. I feel awful and I should have gotten the impression the first time for my records so as not to mix this up. I truly regret the misleading info I first sent. Please correct the website. There is a second tombstone that reads: Corporal
There are other tombstones, but I'm still trying to get a better impression to determine if they are soldiers or not. They are very worn. Joe Sodomin ---------------------------------------- ----- Original Message -----

Bennie, please pass on my compliments to the person that sent you this information. George Jackson was my ancestor's brother in law. Wow! We never would have found this gravesite. Ben Hawley
