Tom, not an expert on that topic by any means-but all the references to paymasters/muster rolls for pay, etc. have all only referred to the times when they came, verified the rolls and paid the troops. I have never even seen any of them mentioned by name-at least in the research I have done.

Does anyone out there know who they actually served under? War Department/ Army/ Treasury Dept.? Did one or more paymasters serve a particular Corps? That's all unknown territory for me.
