Thanks for your response. My question had already been resolved. It appears I was confusing the 9th Batt. O.V.I., from the CW, with the 9th Battalion of the Ohio National Guard (1898-1899), from the Spanish American War.

I was interested in Company A ot the 9th Batt. ONG because of a number of gentleman from Springfield, Ohio that are related, directly or are collateral to my family lines.

The 9th Batt. ONG was under the command of then Major Charles Young.
