Area monument to honor black Union soldiers

WASHINGTON - Another potentially controversial Civil War-era memorial is planned for the Richmond area, to remember black Union soldiers honored for the valor they displayed fighting in eastern Henrico County.

But the memorial for 14 Medal of Honor winners who fought at the Battle of New Market Heights remains undefined.
