Landsman Jermeiah Sills was on the USS "Water Witch" which was captured by CS Forces at Ossabaw Sound, Georgia. Sills was killed.
Ironicaly enough on the C.S.N an unknown fatality "...They also lost
their pilot, a colored man, whom they considered the best of their pilots for the Savannah River and vicinty, as well as the Ogeebee..."
