Re: EADES-GANN Pension File
In Response To: EADES-GANN Pension File ()

Very interesting!!! There is no Aaron Gann or Edmon Eades listed on the roster of the 115th U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. However, a Private Edwards Eads is listed as having served in Company C.

My guess is the problem may have been the spelling of the name. He may have enlisted as Aaron Gann and the name was changed by the soldier or the enlistment officer.

The regimental history closely matches the information stated in your post. The regiment was organized at Bowling Green, Kentucky July 15, 1864 to October 21, 1864. The unit was assigned garrison duty at Lexington, Kentucky until December, 1864. The soldier could very well have enlisted when the unit passed through Lebanon enroute to Lexington.

The unit was mustered out in Texas on February 10, 1866.
