While visiting and transcribing the tombstones of a historical AME African American cemetery--Old Jerusalem Cemetery--in Bensalem, PA (outside of Philly), I came across a tombstone with the following:

Leroy Allen
1830-1931
Co D 3rd Reg U.S.C. Vol. Inf.

Can anyone shed some light on this regiment?
