I have a CD of the "Ohio Soldiers in World War I 1917-1918". It is compiled from the 23 volume set by the same name. If your father served from the State of Ohio I would be happy to do a look-up for you. If not from Ohio you might check to see if such a "set" is available for the State from which he served.

Incidentally, my g-father served in Company A 317 Engrs. They served in France, Muese-Argonne; Defensive Sector AEF from Jun 10 1918 to Mar 6 1919.
