Mel Gibson's movie is about the 12 hours before Christ died.
He chose to make the film as accurate, as he felt it should be. The producer make the calls on the script and story. So be it.

I did not suggest the boycott of "Cold Mountain", but I want the portrayal of the largest massacre of black and white troops in the Civil War, to be historically accurate. The "Crater" massacre is the worst war crime committed on U.S. soil. I read the book. The battle of the "Crater" was not in the book. For your information the producer "hired" several leading historians to get the battle of the "crater' accurate. One said that the massacre did not happen, or was not significant.
This is revisionist history at its worst!
I have better things to do than drink a coke.
