Re: Infiltrating the DAR! :)
In Response To: Infiltrating the DAR! :) ()

In 2008 the DAR published a book entiled Forgotten Patriots - African American and American Indian Patriots in the Revolutionary War. The book contains the names of those individuals who have been "documented" as having served or provided som service to the War effort. I took a look in the section for Delaware and in the everyname index and did not see the 2 names you provided. This does not mean they did not serve or provide some service, just that as of date of publication of this book there was no info.

I think you will have to use traditional research methods to work your way back, as Khathu suggested.

Selma

One grandfather would have been Francis "Frank" Campbell (born around 1742) in Delaware and the other grandfather, Phillip Townsend Young from Slaughter Neck Sussex County Delaware (born in 1750). For the life of me I cannot find any information on either of them serving but I cannot imagine Jabez would have lied in a public paper. Especially since he was a popular bishop in an A.M.E. Church!

Can someone assist me in finding some records on either one of these men from Delaware?

Ky'a
