The DAR like most lineage societies requires that you are able to prove your lineage to the qualifying ancestor(s). So I would suggest (if you haven't done so already) that you start off with proving the lineage between your ancestor Jabez Pitt Campbell and his parents and grandfathers Francis "Frank" Campbell and Phillip Townsend Young. You would want to document all of their activities - birth, marriages, land purchase, civic engagement, religious involvement, etc. Therefore, you will need to examine county records (court, tax, land records), newspapers, etc. As well as their neighbors, children, friends, and associates. Going through this process will provide you with clues that will assist in substantiating their military service. There is no easy or quick way of doing this.
