The NSDAR has recently released online versions of their 2008 and 2012 Supplemental publications, Forgotten Patriots – African American and American Indian Patriots of the Revolutionary War: A Guide to Service, Sources, and Studies.

The book identified more than 6,000 African American and Native Americans who participated in the American Revolution.
