Anything available on the 55th Massachusetts Regiment which was formed with the overflow after the quota was filled for the 54th. Both units were in the same battles. Some of the 55th were free blacks from Illinois who got to Reading, Mass too late to make the 54th's roster. I'm interested in Nelson Adams whose mother and siblings were kidnapped from Illinois and sold into slavery.
