I would appreciate any help folks could give me regarding the apparent African-American GAR post 260 in Pittsburgh Pa. I just recently discovered that my paternal g-grandfather, Elias Jones was a member of this post from 1890 until his death in 1903. My local library in Ohio have the Pittsburgh Courier on microfilm, the holdings begin after my g-grandfather's death. The University of Pittsburgh Library apparently have the records from this post on microfilm. I am unable to travel there. Does anyone have ancestors that might have been members of this GAR post?
