David Dobbins was a member of Company E, 15 Regiment, U.S.Colored Infantry. He enlisted Jan.14, 1864 in Shelbyville, Tennessee for the term of 3 years. He was stationed in Nashville.
He was 39 years old, 6'2 3/4" tall, brown complexion, black eyes, black hair and was born in Hamilton Co. Tennessee.
He was discharged for disability July 1, 1865. The certificate of disability for discharge was included in the packet received. He died about 1871.
David Dobbins' name is on plaque number B-32 at the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington, D. C.
This was my great great grandfather.
