I haven't found anything in old records to indicate that the child of a white person and Indian person was ever referred to as Mulatto..There was always some percentage of African heritage there..
In LA, when African and Indian combined, sometimes they were referred to as Mulatto Rouge..as in, Black and Red instead of Black and white..
