George W. Marsh b. in Virginia abt. 1834, believe to be enslaved around the Jefferson County Virginia area (now West VA) He married in 1863, Mary C. Goens, b. 1840, VA, daughter of Lawson Goens (free colored family. The Marsh family left Jefferson County after the civil war, stopping in Morrow Co.
