Using Ancestry's Search Engine

Well..I don't know if ancestry has changed in the last 5 years, or if I am finally learning a little better how to use, it, but it seems I am getting more results than before..
No matter what site we use, we can't change the fact that a lot of our ancestors used the same names over and over..and so did everyone else's ancestors..
I am making use of the historical records search..That brings up a lot of things..
Didn't know about the wildcard thing..But I figured out how to find out how many towns were in a given county if I know a certain family is in the county somewhere at some time..
I just write the word anybody in the given name space and leave the surname space blank, and fill in the county..that brings up every town or district in the county.. :D
