That must have been a common thing back in those days, even now. I have considered that possibility as well. At least I know that there is some kind of blood relationship coming from Louis Sam. I just have to learn more about the Leblanc clan, maybe collect some marriage/baptismal records or something. The census entry from 1900 is other evidence that confirms that Angelique Jean Louis was some of cousin to him(St. Ville). I also found a 1900 court document concerning a dispute between Angelique Sam over her late husbands estate. Victor and St. Ville are being interviewed. Victor said that he had known Angelique as long as he could remember. I interpret that statement as meaning that he knew her before she was married to her husband perhaps his entire life.
