does anyone know anything about these particular members of the Leblanc
family who were free persons before the Civil War who lived mainly in
the Carencro Area near Lafayette. There is a possible blood
relationship to members of my SAM family I recently discovered in a
Civil War pension. The parents of all of these brothers were Placide
Leblanc, a cajun. & Elisabeth "Tonto" Pierre(who some say she was
native american, but in the records, she is listed as "black".
According to the testimony of Pierre Leblanc, his mother was the sister
of my SAM relatives(Jean-Pierre, Angelique, Don Louis, Adolphe, and
Casimir) Any info concerning these particular names would be very
helpful.
