Re: hester king and goldsby family

Good Morning, Ok, here we go, sorry for information you already have. You seem to already have the 1850 census with the family. If you need it, let me know. Hester's mother was Mary King. Mary was born in South Carolina around 1800. She had several children, Peter, Simon, Hester and Vlaney. Mary's mother was Rachel King. Rachel was the head of a free colored persons household of 14 in the Dallas County 1830 census. In this household was James Wilson, born in 1796 in South Carolina. James was my 5th great grandfather. I believe his wife Dicy was Rachel's daughter and Mary's sister. Both families moved to Perry County and are on the 1840 census.
Hester had a quasi marriage with Thornton B. Goldsby that produced at least seven children. I also believe that Rachel's husband was James King. They were in the 1800 and 1810 South Carolina census. Let me know if you need more.
