I get census data from a wide variety of sources - online and off:
ancestry.com for AIS indexes 1870, 1860, 1850, 1830 etc) including slave schedules, and for indexed 1920 and 1930.
genealogy.com for indexed 1900
Heritage Quest for indexed 1870 and 1910
LDS Cenus cd set for 1880
Plus specialized indexed cd's for some particular counties, and the AA census index 1870 cd from Heritage Quest.
