I am researching the Townsends, who also appear to have migrated from Virginia to Pike County, OH, in the early 1800s.

I have a Rebecca Lucas (b. 1807 in Virginia) who married Levi Townsend in Seal Township, Pike County, on 2 October 1825.

I don't know from which family Rebecca comes, but both she and Levi were living next door to Abraham Lucas in Seal, Pike County, on the 1860 U.S. Census.

I visited Pike County in May of this year and utilized the resources in the library's genealogy room. The staff and the library and other genealogist there were very welcoming and helpful.
