Re: Solomon Bruce and Barney Redman

Martha: I'm working on the possible link between Anna McGruder and Lydia Catherine Cox, nee Waters/Walters, granddaughter of Solomon & Harriett Lucas of the same place in VA. Lydia, with her husband, Charles R. Cox, and two daughters, Pearl Mary Ellen (Cox) Jones and Beaulah (Cox) Butler, migrated to Washington, PA, before 1910, where he started a construction building trade. Also, somewhere in the midst of things long past, Ella Redman, nee Hargrave of Ohio married Valentine Redman from West Virginia, and I've hit a brick wall after 1880 with this couple and their children. Ella, daughter of Jesse Harrison Hargrave & Elizabeth (Buckley) Hargrave are linked to me on my mother's paternal side, while the Lucas, is on her maternal side. However, as things went, the families did cross down the line. Is there any indication among your report of Valentine or his family? On the 1910 Federal census on Ancestry.com, Frank Redman, aka Frank Bruce is named as a son of Anna McGruder. Is this correct? Or, merely a mix-up of surnames. I have photo's of my aunt, who was related to the Phillips family of Farrell, PA, Mildred Campbell, nee Ankrum, deceased. She was the wife of my father's brother. Her brother, Leroy Johns, now deceased, lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area not too far from me. Thanks for any help. Jane Campbell Arrington
