Re: Quaker and FPOC in Southside VA and NC
In Response To: Re: Quaker and FPOC in Southside VA and NC ()
Art, No, those aren't any of mine, although I do know of some Halifax Co. COPELANDs that did migrate at a much later date to parts of Ohio, but most of mine remained in NC throughout the 1800's. And, of course, the Wake Co. COPELANDs did migrate to Oberlin, Lorain Co., Ohio and beyond in the 1840's, those were the children of John Copeland, b. 1808 & Delilah Evans, b.1809. Some of the names of my COPELAND ancestors, the children of Benjamin Copeland & Frances Hawkins were Penny, Martha, Mary, Margianne, John Henry, James Harrison, Ben Jr., Frances Jane, Elisha, Louise and Virginia Copeland, among them were 2 sets of twins, by the way. That seems to have been a family trait because several generations of various of his children continued to have twins, right through this day. Deloris
