Could there be a connection between your Washington Co. Paynes and those who lived in Fayette Co., PA? These would be the descendants of Thomas and Eleanor Payne from VA. Thomas was born around 1845. I have 3 children connected to them, Henry, George and John. All supposedly born in OH. George is the father of Clarence Payne who married my aunt, Hilda McKenzie. The family was living in Uniontown and in the Redstone Twp area. I also have George's birthplace as Gallup Place, OH.
