My 3rd great grandfather, Lott Lee (1796-1876) lived in Patrick County Virginia. I have been able to document him back to 1848 but no further. I'm looking for his parents/siblings. He stated he was born in Virginia. I have reason to believe that he may have come from another county since he had to request permission of the court to remain in Patrick County (1851). On the other hand, he could have been manumitted before 1848 - another reason to request permission to remain in the county.
