The Surry County Register has been transcribed and the information appears in the book Surry County, Virginia Register of Free Negroes by Dennis Hudgins. It covers the time period 1800 up to 1862.....no one with the surname TYREE appears, although the surname WALDEN and JOHNSON does appear.

I transcribed the Sussex County Register (1800-1850) no one with the TYREE or WALDEN surnames appears but there are JOHNSONs

I only transcribed the Southampton up to 1810......but so far no TYREE's or WALDEN, but a couple of JOHNSON's.
