Hi Marlene
Thank you for the update!
> had a relationship with a woman named Jane Fisher.
I knew that the Solomon BRUCE (who was a freed VanMETER slave)
married a Jane ... but I did not have a surname for her.
> Then I learned that Solomon and Jane Fisher had a Andrew
> and Solomon and Nellie Lett had a Andrew
I have not found marriage records for either partners either. But since
they lived together for a number of years, I assume they were married.
Then that would mean that Solomon BRUCE & Eleanor LETT divorced
... then they both remarried to Jane FISHER & Barnet REDMAN.
> there is not two Solomon Bruce's.
I am quite willing to accept this, if someone could just please share
with me what indications exist that show they are the same individual.
I personally have not found any documents that indicate this,
so I would really appreciate knowing a source that reveals that.
> The Solomon Bruce that settled in Greene County
> is the same one that was freed in the VanMeter will.
I agree with this statement ...
the Solomon BRUCE (who was a VanMETER slave)
married a Jane & he is in PA,Green-Co with her children,
including the Mary L. BRUCE of the death certificate.
I also agree that Eleanor LETT married "a" Solomon BRUCE
& then married Barnet REDMAN. I just have not seen ANY
documentation that shows that "the" Solomon BRUCE
who married Jane is the same person who married Eleanor LETT.
Again I am easily agreeable to this if someone could just
please share some source info for this statement.
Thank you,
NICOLE
