Mr. Heinegg,
In your research Mary Cary of York County, had a son Robert born abt. 1745 Charles City, would this be Lott,David, and Bartlett Carys father, and they possibly had sisters Judy and unknown (owner of Judy was 1st Gideon christian to daughter Susannah Christian. I think that this family can be easily traced throughout the census.
George Washington may have owned Cary slaves. Could he have purchased them from John Tyler of Greenway, having been previously owned by his wife Letitia Christian? Did she own Cary/Carey slaves? Some websites say that John Tyler sold a Emphraim and Betsy Cary to John Lewis in 1831, would this be President Tyler? I am just guessing.
I am trying to tie the Beal family into this also, I read somewhere that Mylles Cary had left his best friend a William Beal in charge of his son William Carys property I am not sure if it was land, or what. I do understand that Mr. Patterson did a lot of wonderful research on a Beal family already.
I am basically trying to sort all the AA Carys.
Thanks.
Rose
