p.83 – Bill of Sale: Nicholas Day to Nicholas Day Jr.; Burke County January Session 1816; Bill of Sale proved by oath of James Day: The bill of sale mentions Nicholas Day sold to Nicholas Day Jr. one Negro girl named Cloe for forty five dollars.

p.84 Bill of Sale January 21 1815 mentions Nicholas Day sold John Day my son, one Negro girl named diner for forth five dollars

p.45 – December 24, 1830 the bill to authorize Aquilla Wilson Day (a free Negro woman of Halifax Virginia to reside in the state
in 1829, she married Thomas Day, “a free Negro cabinetmaker and man of considerable property” Thomas Day used slaves, in 1830 he had two and in 1860 he had three.
